Madison Music Lessons

When I started songwriting and voice classes with Billy in early 2022, I had a few barely finished songs. Now I have somewhere in the 80s written, three released and three more recorded and ready to go. I’ve learned to be a better songwriter, a more confident singer (which I never thought I would do) and her encouragement and belief in me helped me believe in myself. I didn’t know what to expect when I started, but starting was the important part. If you ever considered learning an instrument or improving your skills, just start. You won’t be sorry.

My 17yo daughter has been taking guitar and piano lessons (with a little voice and songwriting thrown in) from Billy at Madison Music Lessons for a year. I am amazed at the progress she has made in this time. Billy includes the perfect mix of theory, technique, and just a passion for music that my daughter shares. She loves her lessons so then is motivated to practice and try new songs on her own to then share with Billy which means that her skills improve. Highly recommend!!

I took guitar lessons as a teenager for a short period of time in the 60s, but quit because I became easily discouraged and frustrated as a beginner. My teacher at the time didn't seem to care whether or not I learned anything and never did anything to encourage me so it wasn't long before I quit. For many years though, I had always wished that I had stuck with it. My 11-year old granddaughter started taking lessons with Billy (after almost a year with another teacher that she was quickly becoming bored and frustrated with) and I was amazed at the transformation! In less than a year my granddaughter was not only performing with her guitar, but singing as well in front of small audiences. Her skill level and self confidence exploded and I was so impressed! Not only did her self esteem improve, but even her grades at school. I could clearly see her blooming before my eyes!
